Def Jam x adidas Superstar II – 25th Anniversary Collection – Redman

Brick-City icon Redman has long been a favorite among hip-hop heads, and now Adidas has given the Funk Doctor his own version of the iconic shell-toe Superstar. Most of the upper is blood-red, while the collar, laces, and small band around the thick rubber sole is a lighter, almost orange colored red. A comic-styled likeness of Redman adornes the tongue, his name is on the sole of the heel, the painted “R” appears on the heel in what appears to be a clear gel print, and the silver logo on the heel says “Funk Doc”. Providing some nice updates on the Superstar, the sole bottom has a nice splatter pattern, while the shell toe stays with the traditional white. Black appears on the lining, laces, and on the three stripes. A matching t-shirt is releasing as well that pays direct tribute to the artwork on the debut album, “Whut? thee Album”.

Air Jordan 1 (AJ1) Retro High - “School Daze” pack

Just in time to hit the books again, Spike Lee and Jordan Brand collaborate yet again on a School-Daze-inspired pair of Air Jordan 1 high models. One models takes its inspiration from the poster of this 1988 Spike Lee film, using the purple, yellow, and white found on the poster throughout the shoe and on the strap. The varsity patch material on the swoosh is a nice detail to lock in the scholastic theme. The other model has no straps and adopts its colors from the fraternity Gamma Phi Gamma that is featured in the film. Leather replaces the varsity material on the swoosh in this classic, no-frills colorway. With the flurry of releases of Air Jordan 1s, the models in this pack seem to be standouts. These should hit your local retailers very soon.

Nike - Blazer High Premium - Selvage Denim

The above Blazer High started to drop in international doors last month but have slowly started to hit US base retailers now so look out for them at your local Nike dealers. The raw selvage denim is two-toned in a darker and lighter version with contrast stitching to mimic that of premium denim. Also notice the brown Nike emblem on the heel that mimics the hem stitch on a fresh pair of jeans. Other details include the white and red selvage piping (also seen in the picture on the jean cuffs) and a Levis-esque Nike tag in white and red. The black sole, swoosh, and heel box all provide just enough contrast to make these Blazers some highly-anticipated sneakers.
