Words From....
If you are like me you're relieved to see another year in passing. 2008 was hectic. I lived, I loved, I lost. These last 12 months have been filled with sleepless nights, countless studio sessions, drama, stress, excitement and of course music. I have no resolutions and for the new year I plan not to make any. Instead I will just go with the flow. I will continue to live, love and experience life. Instead of proclaiming resolutions I've taken a pro active approach with my goal setting. Less chat, more act. It's self explanatory. Now before I stumble into a drunken frenzy with this evenings festivities I'd like to shout out all my family. I know that I can be a stubborn MF but for sticking by my side I am forever in gratitude. '09 I got this!

What's Beef? Joe Budden Vs. Ransom
What's Hip Hop without "Beef?" If you were like me this holiday you were probably shaking your head at the Joe Budden vs. Ransom situation. I call it a situation because honestly it got to the point where I started to pity both of these dudes. I'm a fan of Buddens and Ransom and am all for "lyrical warfare" but WTF! Get back in the booth! Release your albums!! Shit is starting to look corny! Stop the madness! The always analytical Jay Smooth drops a little insight on the matter. Check it out!

Words From.....
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a devout B.I.G fan. There's something about Brookylns finest that gets me charged to this day. It's been more than 10 years since his passing but his charisma, delivery, and humour still live on. "Everyday Struggles" spoke on the plights of young men everywhere. Ready to Die was not just an album but the soundtrack to my life. With the release of the film Notorious the music of Christopher Wallace will once again touch the lives of many. A new generation who were too young to understand his impact will get a broader understanding of why we love B.I.G
Love him or hate him his place in history is forever. I'd like to be the first to send a gun finger salute to the memory of Christopher " The Notorious B.I.G" Wallace.

D-Nice Present True Hip Hop Stories:
True Hip-Hop Stories - Kwame from D-Nice on Vimeo
When I think about all the things I have done to get my foot in the door I can't help but see that struggle creates great music. The one theme that rings true in this series is that struggle is a main factor in breeding creativity. Not having the adequate tools never stopped pioneers such as Kwame from creating classics. I started out with just my pen and pad wanting to be heard. That lead to me creating my own home studio where I recorded my first freestyles. The freestyles lead me to meeting the Rez Dogz and the rest as they say is "History"

WTF: Captial P In The Building!!!
Wow!
My boy Boots @disbedatnewshit broke down the definition of So when I saw this video I was speechless. For those not in the know a capital P is womans side profile. Some have a little while others have even less (sorry my bad!). "Pebblez" looks as though she has enough to serve the hungry while simultaneously working as a human serving tray. All I can say is wow!

I remember coppin' my first pair for $50 in Champs. Me and the homie Sylk were the only ones wearing Saucony. I think I still have them joints somewhere. They disappeared for a minute but it looks like the good folks @ Alife Rivington Club (A.R.C.) are bringing that flava back. Spring needs to come quick!!! Me and winter got some issues. LOL

Saukrates - Fades Away (Remix)
In the early 90's one of the artists that made me want to rhyme was none other than Saukrates. For those not in the know Saukrates was considered to be the "one". With classics such as "Hate Runs Deep"and his full length release "The Underground Tapes" It was only a matter of time before the world would recognize what Toronto already knew. But as with all artists Saukrates was entangled in the red tape that is the music industry. Fortunately the music never stopped. The Emcee/Singer/Producer has consistently been putting out fire since '94. Much props to Big Sox for handing the torch the next generation of artists coming out of Toronto. Big shout to my dude Tona on the remix.

Vibes & Stuff: Mixtape Edition
It's Monday and I thought that I would start the week on a mellow tip. As a certified "music" head I listen to a little bit everything. Marsha Ambrosius aka the Flow in Floetry has been doing her thing on the solo tip for a minute now. Here's a mixtape from Don Cannon out of the Aphilliates Camp. Definitely on my wish list of dream collaborators. Check it out and be sure to get the Aftermath debut when it drops.

Studio Beef ( Budden TV): Style Vs. Substance
The question I have for y'all is what's more important style or substance? My dude Crispy one half of the ReZ DogZ always tells me that I should be open to creating my own format when writing. Traditional rap songs are usually 3 verses, 2 hooks and 1 bridge. Buddens goes in. Both Joell Ortiz and Joe Buddens make valid points. You be the judge.

It's hella cold out so I thought I'd hit you up with some heat.
Definitely an artist to look out for in 2009. I'm pretty late with this one but the tracklisting speaks for itself.

Where Dame Stands On Jimmy Vs. Jay: Juice Edition
I'm on Nahright taking this in and for some reason I couldn't help but think about the movie "Juice" Q and Bishop used to be tight as brothers but the minute bish got props he damn near killed all his crew. Now I'm not saying Jay is Bishop I'm just saying it's crazy how one minute it's all love and next debts are being aired out(dead wrong in my opinion). The Roc-A-Fella dynasty is something of legend. But they do say that power can get to ones head. As the new year approaches the likelihood of Dame and Jay reuniting is something of folklore. But hey it was great while lasted. Keep it movin'
